Coming to all mobile devices on April (yes, even feature phones)
Gameloft is the go-to mobile developer for Marvel when it comes to making mobile game adaptations of the big-screen version of their franchises. After the highly successful Iron-Man 3 and the first Amazing Spider-Man mobile games, it just made sense that Gameloft would be the one that makes the sequel for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
“After the tremendous success of the first The Amazing Spider-Man mobile game, we’re excited to be working with Marvel again to bring the fan-favorite hero back onto smartphones with The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” says Karine Kaiser, VP Marketing & Licensing at Gameloft. “Players will enjoy a deep open-world adventure and iconic web-spinning action that makes Spider-Man so extraordinary.”
Gameloft is promising that players will be able to roam freely in the streets of Manhattan, and has pledged to increase the size of the city and its detail. The game puts you control the webbed crusader as he web-swings, climbs and fights an assorted collection of villains as he tries to save New York (again). Just as the title suggests, Spider-Man will be battling the film’s villains on your mobile device, which includes Electro and Green Goblin, among others.
The game is set to debut on April 2014 as premium game (read: paid), and will be available on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, Windows Phone and even feature phones.
