Use the Force with Star Wars: Jedi Challenges

Is This The AR Experience You Were Looking For?

John was at IFA Berlin awhile back and one of the things that caught his eye was Lenovo’s booth for Star Wars: Jedi Challenges. Unfortunately, he was unable to try it out then because of the incredibly long queues but, fortunately, this AR experience has made its way to the Philippines just in time for the release of the 9th installment of the epic saga too!

Disney and Lenovo worked hand-in-hand to give fans of the franchise a unique experience through the Star Wars: Jedi Challenge via a smartphone-powered (and, no, it doesn’t matter if you’re on iOS or Android) Lenovo Mirage AR headset, tracking beacon, and a nifty controller that looks like a Lightsaber. There are three game modes available in Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, which include: HoloChess (which you see Chewbacca and R2D2 playing on the Millenium Falcon in Episode 4), Strategic Combat (which plays like an RTS), or — the thing you’re probably going to fight your kids or siblings over — Lightsaber Battles. where you can take on the likes of Kylo Ren or Darth Maul.

Setup couldn’t be easier as well. All you have to do is download the app, place the tracking beacon on the floor (making sure you have lots of room and not break things in your sala), slip your smartphone into the AR headset, hold the Lightsaber controller in your hand, select a game mode and you’re off to hone your Lightsaber skills against the Darkside’s biggest and baddest.

We have to reiterate. Please make sure you have enough room wherever you choose to play Star Wars: Jedi Challenges.

The Star Wars: Jedi Challenges will be available at select Toy Kingdom stores starting December and has been priced at Php 14,999.
