Want a piece of your favorite star? Here’s your chance

If you’ve wanted a piece of memorabilia of Marian Rivera (or any similar star), chances are you’d either have to be really friendly with her manager or root around her garbage to get something you can treasure. Since not everyone who wants a keepsake of their favorite stars are comfortable with rooting around their garbage like a stalker to get their own piece of stardom, new website Starbids is a god send.

The site allows regular folks to bid on pre-loved items of local stars like Marian Rivera, Glydel Mercado, Anjo Ylana, et. al to keep in their homes as remembrance. Each authentic pre-loved item comes with a Certificate of Provenance, a signed document that proves that said item is owned by that celebrity. If, by some lucky accident/stroke of luck/divine provenance Marian Rivera manages to win an Oscar, that dress of hers that you bought off of the site suddenly becomes worth its weight in gold (or not).

The site also allows you to bid on brand-new items with a twist. Instead of actually bidding up, you bid down, though it’s not as free as you’d think as you have to pay for “stars”, in site currency that allows you to place dibs on an item that you want. Whether you win that reverse auction or not, the stars that you used to bid are consumed, and you will have to buy more if you want to continue “dibbing” as it were. We’re not sure if this model is going to fly, but you try it out for yourself if you want to.
