BMW envisions a future where two-wheel vehicles have enough onboard AI to facilitate driving without the need for protective gear. Sounds ambitious? Well, that’s exactly what BMW is aiming at.
Built-in intelligent driver assistance features are the key to BMW’s Motorrad VISION NEXT 100. The end-user experience will still be about the soul of motorcycling – the thrill and freedom of the open road – but with more consideration to safety.
BMW assumes that motorcyclists of the future will be wearing lightweight visors, instead of the regular helmet for headgear. Like current attempts at smart visors and smart sunglasses today, these visors will provide information that will enable users to drive more efficiently and safely with their vehicle.
So far, the Motorrad VISION NEXT 100 exists only in the conceptual stage. Nonetheless, it’s an interesting glimpse into the future of motorcycling.
