A more economical Swift is heading your way!
Suzuki Philippines has officially launched the 1.2L variant of their venerable Swift compact car at an event earlier today. The Suzuki Swift 1.2L is significantly cheaper than the previous 1.4L model, but looks almost identical to its older brother with a few key differences (which we’ll go into later).
This variant of the Swift has a maximum output of just 87 hp @ 6,000 RPM, with a maximum torque of 114 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. This particular version of the Swift is made in India and has a slightly higher ground clearance of 170mm which is higher than the previous model of the Swift, which is good news for people who have to ford through light floods that are common in Manila during the rainy season.
While the overall look of th 1.2L version of the Swift is similar to its older brother, it has a few key differences. There are turn lights on each sie mirrors, and the car now has halogen fog lights as standard, which used to be a feature in higher end models of the 1.4L version.
Additional features includ audio controls on the steering wheel, as well as a more aggressive front grille.
If you’re interested in grabbing the 1.2L version of the Swift, bear in mind that it will cost you around Php 608,000 for the manual transmission variant and Php 648,000 for the automatic transmission. It should hit Suzuki dealerships by July.
