Samsung’s beefing up its entry-level J series of phone with a not-so entry-level device – the J7 Prime. The new phone has been outed in Samsung’s Vietnam website, and sports several key features that would make it a logical upgrade for people who want to jump from the lower J series of devices.

First off, the new phone packs a 5.5-inch full HD display, along with an 1.6GHz octa-core processor, and 3GB of RAM. There’s 32GB of storage on board that can be further expanded via microSD.
The J7 Prime also sports a shiny new fingerprint scanner at the home button located on the bottom. The phone also packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, while the front camera has 8-megapixels and an f/1.9 aperture.
The J7 Prime is priced at VND 6,290,000, which is about 13.1K in our currency. It’s a fair chunk of change for a J-series phone, but it may be worth it because of the mid-range features.
