3 Things We Love About the Starmobile Engage Aura

We’ve had more time with Starmobile’s affordable, 14-inch laptop, the Engage Aura, after writing its initial review — you can check out the video above — and our relationship with it has been somewhat rocky. Just like a strained relationship, at times it’s best to remember the good things. With that in mind, here are the three things we love about the Starmobile Engage Aura.

It’s Lightweight and Easy to Carry

I personally have a ginormous bag with me every time we have to head to an event or when we have to film videos for the site and, despite my hefty frame, it can be a bit of a hassle to carry around equipment and a laptop for editing our content. This made us really appreciate how easy it is to bring around the Starmobile Engage Aura on days where we don’t have to have the entire arsenal at the ready. Coming in it at just 1360 grams and its dimensions of 351 x 233 x 20mm, the Engage Aura fits in a much smaller bag and has been a great companion when our schedule is packed with meetings.

Sleek Design

Yes, we know. We said it ourselves in our initial review. It’s design is straight out of Apple’s playbook, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The notebook looks good and we’ve had our share of people telling us that they initially thought we were carry around a Macbook had they not seen the Starmobile logo on the lid, but you can always cover that up with a decal if you’re into that sort of thing. Gold also isn’t typically the color that I would choose for my devices, but there is a subtler silver variant of the Engage Aura.

A Good Deal at its Current Price

The Starmobile Engage Aura is currently available at Lazada for Php 7,488. We’ve poked around to look for other similar offerings on Lazada — who, by the way, we’re not endorsing with this post; a bit of a disclaimer there — and while there are a few items with comparable specs from other local brands, none of them have 14-inch displays. We said it in our initial review, the specs for the Engage Aura will not ooh and ahh, but just as long as you understand its limitations and know what you’re getting into, it’s pretty capable of handling work on-the-go.

There you have it, the three things we love about the Starmobile Engage Aura. We’re also listing down some of the laptops flaws in another article, so stay tuned.
