5 Cheap Fully-built Desktops Under 25K For Home Learning And WFH

Can't find a laptop? How about a desktop instead

Many parents are scrambling to get laptops and similar devices for home learning, as it’s obvious things aren’t getting any better as far as COVID-19 is concerned. It’s still not safe to send kids to school, so everyone is trying to make do with what they have.

But getting a laptop right now is a tremendous ordeal, and unless you’re willing to order from overseas, most stocks at the local dealer level have simply evaporated because of unprecedented demand. There is a solution though: desktops.

The humble desktop PC is a great solution for home learning, and since everyone will be stuck at home for the foreseeable future the loss of mobility compared to a laptop isn’t such a big deal.

Because of that, we’ve compiled a few picks from Lazada of desktops you can buy for under Php 25K for home learning and working from home. These are complete systems that require minimal assembly, and even then that simply requires plugging in cables to the right slot.

The products in this article are all sold locally, with sellers located in the Philippines, and the products themselves having mostly positive buyer reviews.

infinity i7

The first one in our list is an AiO or an all-in-one, which means the computer bits have been fused with the display, saving space on your desk and making it easy to set up anywhere. The infinity i7 packs a 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor (4600m) that’s good enough for everyday use. The RAM is pretty generous too at 16GB, and the 512GB SSD drive is more than enough for home and office use. You’ll probably not going to be playing newer games on this AiO, but again gaming is not the point of this.

You can get the infinity i7 for Php 23,490 from here.

IPASON P11

The IPASON P11 is another AiO that combines all the PC bits with the monitor, making for an incredibly small and handy package if desk space is a concern. This particular AiO has a newer Core i3 8100 processor and a larger, 23.6-inch curved panel means you’re trading a little raw processing power, storage and RAM for a bigger display and a lower price compared to the first option in this list.

Speaking of the other specs, the IPASON P11 comes with 8GB DDR4 memory and 120GB SSD drive.

You can buy the IPASON P11 here for Php 19,999.

candymanila2020 23.8-inch AiO

I usually don’t include entries in lists like these for sellers that are don’t have ratings yet because they’re so new, but I’m willing to make an exception for candymanila2020’s case. For one thing this particular AiO has rave reviews from more than 10 buyers and has a really good price for what you’re getting.

For Php 17,800, the AiO being sold by this shop has a particularly generous 23.8-inch display along with 8GB of DDR3 RAM and 120GB of SSD storage. Not the best or speediest specs, but they’re good enough for most home students and workers on a really tight budget.

One interesting feature of this AiO is that it has a backup battery integrated into the design, so power interruptions won’t wipe out what you’re working on, giving you time to save your work before shutting down.

This AIO is priced at Php 17,800 and can be bought here.

Vivocom AMD Ryzen 3 Desktop

VIVOCOM Technologies doesn’t have a name for their desktop offer, but they should since it’s a good general-purpose machine for home learning that you can probably upgrade down the line.

For php 17,624 VIVOCOM’s pre-built desktop comes with an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G processor, along with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1TB HDD and an 18.5-inch monitor. What’s nice about this particular setup is that it’s a good jumping-off point for people who want to upgrade to better components in the PC down the line (more RAM, more/better storage and even a better processor) since it’s a desktop and not an AiO like the first two entries.

You can get this desktop here.

Vivocom Core i5 Desktop

This entry is another pre-built from Vivocom, this time sporting an Intel Core i5 9400 processor. This chipset is relatively new and is almost the exact same processor I’m personally using on my home rig (mine is an Intel Core i5 9400F).

This particular setup is fairly good, and has a lot of upgrade potential down the line if you want to change out the parts when budget allows. As it stands the price you pay for it already gives you an 18.5-inch monitor, a GT710 video card for discrete graphics, 8GB of DDR4 memory, and a 1TB HDD drive for Php 23,453.

You can buy this desktop here.

  1. Very good article, I was waiting for this after the laptop article. I’ve seen these All in one’s and is probably going to get me one. I think a lot of people/schools are also ignorant/uninformed about amd processors, as most of their recommendations for parents to buy are i5 and i5 equipped laptops and desktops, would be helpful if you would write an article abotu those. Thanks,

  2. infinity i7 is not worth the money, even ipason’s p11 with i3 8100 is a better choice than that. Vivocom’s offerings are the bang for the buck here, and with an upgrade path.

  3. Uhm and can you please change the comment system, use either disqus, openweb or commento or whatever. This native comment isn’t really that good.
