5 Tech Events We’re Looking Forward to in 2018

Taking Awesome Out of the Box in 2018!

2017 was an absolutely stellar year that gave us a ton of gadgets to gawk at and drool over. We were fortunate enough to be able to cover some of the biggest tech events all over the world and the team is looking forward to sharing even more about the world of tech to you guys in 2018. With that being said, here are our Top 5 Tech Events We’re Excited for in 2018.

Mobile World Congress

MWC is probably the world’s biggest tech event for smartphones and 2017 definitely did not disappoint with the releases that streamed out of Barcelona last year. We saw the LG G6, Huawei P10 series, got a peek at OPPO’s 5x Lossless Zoom tech, and the comeback of the iconic Nokia 3310.

There are even more phones to look forward to seeing in the hallowed halls of Fira Gran Via as we are possibly seeing the new iterations of flagship devices from LG, Huawei, and many other mobile brands plus we may see Samsung release their new S series of smartphones there as well.

COMPUTEX

For everyone who loves PC Peripherals, one of the biggest shows to look out for is COMPUTEX in Taiwan. The event held in the Nangnang Exhibition Hall in Taipei houses some of the best hardware that PC enthusiasts can hope to own for the year.

In the past, the event was primarily dominated by ASUS but, now that Acer has been pretty aggressive, it’ll be interesting to see what the two Taiwanese brands will do to duke it out on the showroom floor.

IFA Berlin

Another awesome event we were fortunate to cover last year was IFA Berlin, where we saw the LG V30, a bunch of midrange devices from Sony, plus Acer’s incredibly powerful Orion 9000.

While we’re not entirely sure what IFA has in store for us this year (aside from the next iterations of the devices we mentioned), this is one Europe’s biggest tech events and we’re pretty sure that there’s awesomeness to behold when the time comes to head back to Berlin.

Samsung Unpacked

Samsung floored us with their presentation when the Korean company unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in New York. While we were there to see the device that we would eventually crown 2017’s Flagship of the Year, the stage was definitely a bit of a scene stealer.

Samsung has been known to top themselves every year, so we’re really looking forward to how they’re going to be able to that with the next release of the Galaxy Note series.

OPPO and Vivo’s Star-studded Extrvaganza

It’s no secret, given all the wraps in malls and airports plus all the salesclerks clad in green and blue, that OPPO and Vivo have incredibly huge marketing budgets to promote their products. Their smartphone releases have always been graced by multiple celebrities to help promote their newest devices in the country for an extremely unforgettable event.

We’re hoping the both brands bring their A game this year with their launch event plus their new selfie-centric smartphones in 2018.
