As if You Needed More Reasons to Purchase The Flagship Killer

We finally booked time with the updated version of the OnePlus 5T and as expected it was a beast that lives up to its given nickname in the tech world. While there are a few cons, we decided to list down a couple of the pros that could be the tipping point for buying this bang-for-the-buck powerhouse. Without further ado, let’s get to the list.

Flagship Level Processing Package

Surprise, surprise! Well, no actually. It isn’t. OnePlus may only release two smartphones a year, but they make sure they’re decked out with the latest and greatest SoC available. In this case, you have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. There was also a time where we thought that anything above 4GB of RAM would be overkill (and that point is still arguable, by the way) but having up to 8GB of RAM available is definitely comforting for the heaviest of users.

A Display that Caters to Your Needs

Yes, the OnePlus 5T now has the newfangled 18:9 display that almost every smartphone company has adopted for their phones and, while the extra real estate is appreciated, the reason why it’s on in this list is the fact that you can tune the display to suit your needs. You can choose between a handful of presets or tune the warmth and coolness to your liking and toggle several modes for the night time or for reading to make using your flagship killer easy on your eyes.

Extra Functionality on the Fingerprint Scanner

The extended display may be tough for someone without the gorilla-like paws that most of the team at Unbox have and even then we still have to do a few hand adjustments to slide down the notification tray or access the quick settings with one hand. To remedy this, OnePlus has added a swipe down feature on the Fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone to make it a little easier to access. It’s a neat little trick that definitely adds some convenience.

Gestures

Yup, nothing new here but this feature actually save our butts when we had a bit of car trouble and definitely gets props from me. You can draw a V to launch the flashlight or an O to launch the camera even though the screen is off. These gestures can be remapped to launch any other app you want, of course. But seriously, it isn’t fun to have to try and fix what’s under the hood of your car while fumbling with a smartphone so this quick launch feature was definitely a godsend.

Great Battery Life and Fast Charge Times

There’s no denying that the OnePlus 5T has monster power under the hood, but what good is all that power if a phone doesn’t last that long? Thankfully, you’ll be getting a lot of juice out of the 5T’s 3300mAh battery; more than enough to last the entire day. If you need to top up, Dash Charge should have you up and running in no time too.
