I’ve been using the BDO Rewards Card for a couple of weeks now and so far it’s been a pretty good experience. To those who are not familiar with it, the BDO Rewards Card lets you earn points from activities that you regularly do. These points can then be used to buy items from various partners of the program. In effect you actually get more from your money since you’re not actually spending more, you’re just getting more stuff for free!

You can get points from the following:

• Bank Transactions like deposits, loans, online bills payment, debit card payments, etc.
• Maintaining a minimum balance
• Purchases at SM, SM Partner Stores, and Partner Retailers

To qualify, just head over to the BDO branch nearest to your location. You’ll need to have at least Php50,000 in your account to be able to avail of the card. If you don’t have that much cash at the moment you can still apply if you have a BDO credit card (principal). There are three types of cards that you can either get: Emerald, Sapphire, and Diamond. The higher you go, the more perks and free stuff you can get (Diamond is the highest among the three).
