The Bane of Fake News Is Here

Google just released a new feature called Fact-Check and we just pray that Facebook follows the lead and implements something like it for their site ASAP. The feature is very straightforward:

Google News determines whether an article might contain fact checks in part by looking for the schema.org ClaimReview markup. We also look for sites that follow the commonly accepted criteria for fact checks. Publishers who create fact-checks and would like to see it appear with the “Fact check” tag should use that markup in fact-check articles.

In short, Google will show you more information about the article so that you can see for yourself if it’s true or not.

This is simply a must-have today. Facebook is literally poisoned with so much fake propaganda from all sides of the political arena. Make no mistake about it, almost all political organizations are doing their best to shape public opinion with deception. We see all kinds of fake shit popping up on the news feed everyday and it’s starting to get really frustrating.

So yeah, good job Google. We’re really, really, really hoping Facebook follows SOON.
