Facebook’s Quiet Mode is The Social Media Detox We Need

It’ll help you step away from the app to keep your sanity

With everyone cooped up in their respective abodes during the enhanced quarantine period, social media has become more toxic than ever before. From political bickering to class warfare and insane conspiracy theories about the pandemic, using social media apps like Facebook during the time of COVID is slowly eating away at our collective souls.

Thankfully Facebook is making it easier to step back and take a break from its app and is rolling out a new “quiet mode” feature.

The new feature allows you to set times when you want Facebook to be quiet, muting incoming notifications and discouraging you from launching the app.

Aside from that, Facebook will now be giving you detailed statistics on how much time you spent on the app, helping you pinpoint exactly where you spend the most time with the app.

Quiet mode is rolling out now, but as with any software update, it may take time before all Facebook users get the new feature.
