Google’s Duo Video Calling App Scales Depending On How Crappy Your Data Is

Seriously smart calling

Aside from the scarily smart Allo messaging app, Google also announced a new video calling app, dubbed Duo. Like Allo, Duo works off of your phone number, so anybody that has your digits can immediately call you in Duo. What’s nice about Duo is that it intelligently scales depending on the quality of your connection automatically, and switches automatically between WiFi and cellular data.

A nice feature of Duo is Knock Knock, which essentially allows you to see who is calling you before they see you, sort of like looking through a peep hole before you open the door. For the security minded, Duo is built with end-to-end encryption for maximum security.
