Google’s Video Call App, Duo, Launches Today

Two apps focused on communication were introduced at Google I/O back in May: Allo, a smart text-based messaging app that takes advantage of Google Assistant, and Duo, a video calling app; both are based off of your mobile number. While we still have to wait for Allo,  Duo is set to launch later today.

Duo is being touted as a video calling app for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re on Android or iOS,  whether you’ve got the latest flagship or a budget device, a fast connection or a speed that we’re more used to over here — you should be able to see your friends and talk to your contacts clearly with video up to HD quality.

We’ll be giving you a hands-on experience with Duo later today,  so stay tuned.
