Grab’s Vison: All Transportation Needs Under One App

Grab’s Vison: All Transportation Needs Under One App

Everything accessible via your phone

Picture stepping out of NAIA and hopping on board a taxi. Since you have the bad luck of living up North, you tell the driver to drop you off at the nearest shuttle terminal that’ll take you closer to home. Once there, you hop on board your designated UV transport shuttle, which leaves a few minutes after you arrive. It drops you off an hour later a few kilometers away from your house, where you hop on board a tricycle that takes you to your final destination. You arrive at your home exhausted but safe.

Now imagine doing all of that via the Grab app. Sounds impossible? Well, not if Grab gets its way – the ride-hailing company has big ambitions for the future of transport and envisions a country where any and all transport options are linked via their app. It doesn’t matter if it’s a car, motorcycle, UV transport or bus – Grab wants a future where every single one of those transport options is interlinked, allowing customers to choose their options depending on their budget.

It’s a big task, one that Grab isn’t afraid to take on. Grab Philippines company head Brian Cu is optimistic: “With a start-up, with Grab, it’s always a process of iterating. We launch, and if it succeeds we push further. If it fails we iterate. It’s part of our DNA, so we’re pretty confident that we’ll be able to iterate quickly enough for it to gain mass adoption.”
