That’s according to Huawei itself
It’s been a few months since the US placed Chinese telecoms giant in their Entity List, which cut them off from using essential US technology including access to Google Mobile Services. Since then, the company has been strengthening its own replacement dubbed AppGallery.
Huawei CEO Richard Yu took the opportunity during last night’s Livestream to announce that Huawei’s efforts haven’t been in vain and that the AppGallery was now one of the top 3 app stores globally.
The AppGallery is now available in around 170 countries and territories and has 400 million monthly active users. Huawei has poured significant investment in growing its own app ecosystem, pledging $1bn to it last year.
The company has conducted multiple roadshows in different countries last year to help developers port over their apps into the AppGallery and by extension, Huawei Mobile Services.
