MVP: Internet Services to Improve Significantly Within 6 Months

20160530_102446

During the PLDT press briefing earlier we just had one burning question to ask MVP about their purchasing of the telco assets of San Miguel together with Globe. Can they categorically give a timeline on when the public will be able to feel the “significant improvement” in their Internet services. Since the question was already asked earlier, we didn’t expect a straight answer. We were surprised with MVP’s reply.

“It’s difficult at this stage to give you specific dates. But well within 6 months. Within 6 months we can promise.” – MVP

If you want it on video, head on over to the Facebook Livestream of Smart here. It’s somewhere near the end.

So there you have it folks. A public commitment from no less than the boss of PLDT and Smart that we will see significant improvement in Internet speeds and coverage within the next 6 months. This is definitely exciting and we hope that they make good on this promise.

Gawin nilang tulad hongkong o south korea ang speed 100 to 200mbps for P100.

    1. Dude, let us stop comparing ourselves to a city state like Hong Kong or Singapore and maybe expect something feasible like 10mbps minimum to 30mbps maximum… WE ARE A FREAKING ARCHIPELAGO…

      1. Your reason is invalid. Just take a look at Metro Manila.think of it as mini-singapore/mini-Hongkong, Why they can’t provide faster mbps at low price? I’m talking about fixed-line internet here.

        1. Vice, it is the other way around. Hong Kong and Singapore are the mini versions of Metro Manila. Hong Kong’s population: 7 million, Singapore: 5.5 million, Greater Metro Manila: 25 million..

          1. He was talking probably about topography since metro manila, singapore and hongkong are the metropolitan hubs.

      1. 5 mbps is ‘good enough’ for one person. Let’s see if you have 5 members in your household.

  2. 6 months- about the same time duterte said he’s gonna need in order to eradicate the criminals in our country. Coincidence?

  4. There can be no excuse now they have said they will address the issue, there failure to respond earlier proves their abject lack of respect for the people of the Philippines.

  6. haha i have just fucking question why the internet in the midnight is fast but when the day comes it slow..can you make it the same not that only when we sleep in the night you just fucking boost the internet make it consistent fucker

    1. Naya answer to your question is due to congestion heavy usage is expected during the day until late at night. This is because the infrastructure of our ISP’s are lacking and congest subscribers in an area sharing a connection. Imagine buong area nyo dumadaan sa one line and everyone using it at the same time. Then at midnight solo mo na.

  10. 6 months? If they can keep that promise and be implemented along with Duterte’s anti-crime vision/program, then I can watch YouTube wherever I want without being worried! But that’s unlikely…
