My View Elite 24″ Full HD LED TV 24EX100 Unboxing

Looking for a decent 24-inch LED monitor or TV that won’t leave a burning hole in your wallet? You’re in luck because we happened to stumble on one which was being sold on Lazada. The My View Elite 24″ Full HD LED TV 24EX100 sells for just Php6,950 and it offers respectable features: 1366x768p, 50 Clear Motion Rate, HDMI port, USB port, 3D Comb Filter, Surround Sound, and 16:9 Widescreen. It’s definitely not top of the line but it does deliver what most people want at a very affordable and practical price. Seeing as we were in need of a monitor for the office, we went on Lazada and ordered one. It arrived earlier today and we’d like to share with you guys our unboxing experience as well as our initial impressions.

Lazada order experience, delivery, and product packaging

Before we get to the actual product allow us to just share how the experience was ordering from Lazada. We went on their site Wednesday afternoon and ordered the product. We opted for the Cash on Delivery payment option. After completing the order we received a confirmation e-mail. Come Thursday we get to communications from Lazada, one SMS and one e-mail. Both of them said that the product has been shipped via LBC and it should be delivered in 1-2 days. Friday at around 2PM the product is delivered to our office, we pay the price (COD) with the exact amount, and start tearing away the plastic covers, hehe.

In short there was nothing negative about the shopping experience. In fact we were pleasantly surprised that it got delivered quite fast and that the COD option was available.

Bubble Wrap.... Woot.
Bubble Wrap…. Woot.

The monitor came in a brown carton box wrapped with two layers of plastic and bubble wrap. We spent a good 2-minutes doing nothing but popping the bubbles. Lol. Anyway, after satisfying our childish urges to pop bubbles we tore the plastic, opened the box, and started pulling stuff out of it.

What's inside?
What’s inside?

Inside we found the monitor, the base stand (which you have to screw to the monitor), wall mount plates, a variety of screws, manuals, warranty card, and the remote control. Setting it up was quite difficult since there were different types of screws and they came in different plastic bags. It took some trial and error to figure out which screw went to which socket. Both the frame of the monitor and the base station were made mostly from plastic with a brushed metal-like design. All the ports were located at the back and sides including USB (to directly play movies), HDMI, VGA, and AVI. note though that the box didn’t come with a VGA cable so if you’re going to use this primarily as a monitor for your PC make sure your PC/Laptop has HDMI or else buy a VGA cable.

We attached the monitor to the base station and put in the screws. To check if it was stable we pushed and pulled it a bit and it did wobble but that’s when we realized that there was another set of screws we needed to attach at the bottom of the base station (ugh). After putting in the screws though it was pretty sturdy.

After setting it up we got our HDMI cable, hooked it up to the MacBook Pro 15-inch Retina, and then connected it to the monitor. Perfect budget set-up for a bigger screen for getting work done, social media, and of course… gaming. Woot.

For the price we paid for it we think the My View 24″ Full HD LED TV 24EX100 is a nice deal. Of course we don’t know how long this will last but only time will tell. Fortunately it comes with a warranty card so that gives us a sense of security with the purchase!

If you’re in the market for an affordable 24-inch LED monitor or TV, check out the My View 24″ Full HD LED TV 24EX100 on Lazada.
