NAIA Gets 1Gbps Free WiFi Via Smart

A few weeks ago we reported that the government promised to bring free, fast WiFi in PH’s major airports, beginning in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade then promised to bring 1Gbps of free, hi-speed WiFi to all major Philippine airports, a promise that many doubted from the get go.

Well, that promise has been met, thanks to the efforts of Smart. None other than Public Affairs head Mon Isberto confirmed to us that Smart is now providing 1Gbps internet access in NAIA. That puts the free WiFi in NAIA as one of the fastest, if not the fastest, free internet WiFi connections in the world.

Aside from NAIA, Smart has also been providing free WiFi in 17 other airports around the Philippines.
