NTC on Random Internet Speed Testing: “Halos Lahat Mabagal ang System.”

News5 caught up with the NTC yesterday as they did their initial Random Internet Speed Testing in various parts of Metro Manila. The first batch of results weren’t encouraging.

Full results for the month of October is due to come out in November. If telcos are found to have subpar speeds they will be fined and the NTC will also shame them in various media outlets including national daily papers and their websites. We will definitely be monitoring this and will wait for the full test results come next month.

  1. VERY GOOD NTC. . . . kng pwede lng sana pag hndi prin naayos ang system nila after ilang beses na mapagsabihan eh ma cancel ung license to operate. . . .

      1. ang alam ko 200php/connection so kung buong barangay nyo ang magrereklamo multiply mo sa 200 mejo malaking bagay din.. kaya lang ung reklamo eh dapat legit 🙂

  2. NTC should have done this a long time ago. But its really not too late to monitor these telcos and hopefully be penalized for inaccurate advertisements and poor services. Non-technical people don’t have a tiny idea how things work. Alam lang nila gumamit ng internet and they’re good. Maski wala sila masyado alam sa ganitong mga bagay, hindi dapat pagsamantalahan ng mga telcos ang mga consumers. Nakakalungkot lang isipin…

  3. penalize? how much? and where does the fund go? the only thing that is fair to consumer is to rebate the amount that they can’t get.. we pay for the services not the government so we are the ones who should benefit from the fines, not those stupid fools from that department..

    1. Penalize may be in the form of rebates to consumers (with interest and all) or to the government. Of course, I prefer that it must go to the consumers.

  5. greed for money like PLDT they automatically updated smart bro wimax to Ultera without saying that there’s a 30gb data cap per month on the average of 1gb per day at 3mbps after the capping youre speed will be at 256kbps dial up??? a BIG BIG SCAM

  6. Anung medyo mabagal?!!! PLDT Ultera linya ko na 5Mbps tapos ang download speed, di pa umaabot ng 1 Mbps?!! Sabi pa ng agent baka daw naconsume ko na Cap ko! Eh sa simula palang kahit facebook, di nagloload eh..maubos pa kaya ang Cap!!

  8. To all Smart, Sun amd Globe subscribers,

    Currently the top NTC management and the people behind these tests are currently in “secret” talks with these telco companies and we are waiting for them to bribe us with huge amount of money so we dont shame them from public and expose their poor system from total humiliation and to hide their wrong doings in order for them (these Telcos) to earn a lot of money without any consideration for good customer service and most of all “Be Above the Law”. We here at NTC since the christmas is around the corner we are doubling our efforts for our top management and employees to earn a lot of money from conniving with these said Telcos and practice unlawful public service by engaging into corrupt pratices like other government agencies do. By doing these random internet tests and going public with it and exposing how bad and slow the internet speed of these companies they will be alarmed and they will be force to bribe us with the money (large sum of it) as we are expecting so we and them will continue to provide poor service to the public and lying to them as we always do and by doing that our pockets will be much fuller before the holiday seasons ends and no matter how severe or worse the complains of these three telco companies,.. rest asured they will all waste their time and wont get any justice with it but to loose money for the poor service they are getting every single day thru many many years to come.

    So expect nothing but lies and corruption from these tests we are doing and WE ARE 100 PERCENT SURE, after these test and next year, you will still experience THE SAME SLOW POOR INTERNET SERVICE FROM THESE THREE TELCO COMPANIES as if its like nothing happened.
