PCIJ Hacked After Reports on Duterte Admin’s War on Drugs

Hackers took down two of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism‘s (PCIJ) websites on Friday after the online journal published reports on the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.

The PCIJ confirmed the attacks on their Twitter account, adding that the hackers marked their reports with “a phrase with explicit curse and threat” into them. As of this posting, the two websites are still inaccessible.

The Duterte administration’s all-out campaign against illegal drugs has resulted in a steadily rising count of suspected drug pushers and users killed since it began. Human rights advocacy groups have been urging President Duterte to immediately stop these extrajudicial killings and follow due process on imposing their campaign.
