Independent mobile analytics firm Opensignal notes how the network has been leading in terms of providing great video experience, 4G availability, download and upload speed experiences around the Philippines. These improvements are not just limited to highly populated metro cities but also in the areas of Central, Eastern, and Western Visayas.

“In our first look at the Philippines at the regional level, Smart has walked away with the vast majority of awards, winning in 17 regions outright for both Video Experience and Upload Speed Experience — along with outright wins in 14 and 13 regions for Download Speed Experience and 4G Availability, respectively,” Opensignal said.

PLDT and Smart, have been focused on boosting businesses and customer’s internet experiences in Cebu with LTE technology as it’s the best way to address the need for internet connectivity in underserved areas, especially during the pandemic. The improvements in the network’s connectivity have been felt especially during the lockdown making it a remarkable feat considering the challenges presented by the pandemic.

Globe comes in second in the rankings, though the company has pledged to focus on improving their service the Visayas and Mindanao regions this year.
