Mislatel will be known as Dito Telecommunity
It is a green light for Mislatel: President Rodrigo Duterte officially awarded a certificate of public convenience and necessity (CPCN) to Mislatel, which is now known as Dito Telecommunity. The awarding happened at Malacañan Palace on July 8, together with officials of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
The awarding of a CPCN to Dito Telecommunity gives the Dennis Uy-led Mislatel Consortium the go signal to begin operations as the country’s third Telco. Moving forward, Mislatel will officially be known as Dito community.
With this development, Dito Telecommunity is expected to be in full operation by 2020, and will aim to deliver the promised 84% coverage on its first year. In five years, Dito Telecommunity promises to cover the country with 5G.
