Secretlab Titan XL Review: Tito-Approved Gaming Chair

Secretlab Titan XL Review: Tito-Approved Gaming Chair

One of the most well-known brands when it comes to gaming chairs has to be Secretlab. You see a lot of international gaming creators use them for their streams and you even have some local personalities like Alodia Gosiengfiao rocking their Omega series chair that’s D.Va themed on some of her streams.

We reached out to her to ask what she liked about it so much and she gave us this answer: “It’s so comfy I can stream and game 5-8hrs straight on it”. Short and sweet but high praise since she does stream almost (if not) daily.

I was very skeptical about how comfortable their Titan series would be and if it was worth the money spent. The initial experience was great; with all the bells and whistles making me really happy because of how luxurious it felt after coming from a wallet-friendly office chair. The question I asked though was: Would this really make a difference in the long run?

Firm But Comfortable

First, let’s talk about their seat cushion that has what the folks over at Sercetlab call their “Cold-cure Foam Mix” and it does what their site advertises. It’s comfortable with just the right amount of give but the firmness to give the support your bum needs.

The second thing is the integrated lumbar support that the back rest has. Normally, yes I would have my face closer to the screen but I have been trying to improve my posture since the start of the quarantine by sitting up straight. But, let’s be honest, that can be a bit tiring so having that adjustable lumbar support helps out a ton.

The biggest difference I felt, however, was because of the arm rests. You can adjust them in the X, Y, and Z axis to get into the most comfortable position for you. This meant that my shoulders were able to relax more whether it was because of long edits or even wanting the W at Fall Guys when I had to take a break.

Sorry about the messy cables on the side. XD

For the Big Boys and Girls

It’s also the only chair I’ve owned that could actually handle my husky frame since the XL model is rated for up to 180KG. I’ve even felt comfortable enough to take a nap on the Titan with the chair fully reclined and I haven’t ended up on the floor yet. It hasn’t shown signs of the casters or frame giving way either.

The stitching on the chair is fantastic and the use of red gives it a pop too.

Always Use the A/C

We do have to note that because of the particular material choice that this particular Titan came in, which is their PU Leather 2.0, I don’t recommend sitting on this chair without the A/C on since you know how it can get in our country. Even then, they also prescribe that you don’t sit on it with your bare skin since there’s still the possibility of sweating on it and shortening its lifespan.

Really comfortable pillow for that quick nap break!

You can get it in their SoftWeave Fabric that should make it a bit more comfortable if you don’t want to use the A/C but there’s just something about leather that amps up the feel of the chair.

They do have their own Leather Cleaner listed on the SG Website but I can’t seem to find it on Lazada so I’ll have to do research on how to maintain this chair to make sure I extend its lifespan.

Verdict: Worth It If…

So, yes, the Secretlab Titan is a bit on the expensive side of things but I think it is worth the Php 24,990 asking price that’s currently listed on their Lazada Flagship store. They’re built really well and I can imagine this chair lasting me for a couple of years — granted that I take care of the leather. More importantly, it’s made sitting on my desk and tucking in for hours of work a lot more comfortable and putting less strain on my back. That in itself is a big bonus for a Tito like me.

It’s not something I would recommend to everyone but, if you can swing it in your budget and it fits your aesthetic, I definitely give this the Tito Seal of Approval.
