After a short disruption, Smart has announced that their mobile internet services have now normalized, meaning it’s now back on.
Here’s the official statement from the company:

Please refresh your data connection by turning your cell phone or tablet OFF then ON. Thank you.
Smart’s embarked on a massive network overhaul the past few months to improve the quality of their internet services, according to Smart Chairman and head honcho Manny V. Pangilinan. That network overhaul will obviously entail a few teething problems, so we’ll just have to be a little more patient in the meantime as they continue their upgrade.
