On the way to better internet

A few weeks after promising better internet after their acquisition of the 700MHz frequency from San Miguel, Smart has managed to quickly put up 3 700MHz in just a few days.

The updates come direct from the head of PLDT himself, Manny V. Pangilinan, in a series of tweets.

The first 700MHz cell site was put up in Tanay, while the second was setup in Davao near Ecoland, Matina. The third one was put up in Manggahan Pasig.

According to MVP’s tweets, all three base stations are recording speeds of more than 100Mbps. If you’re near the areas mentioned, you’ll have to have a handset that’s capable of utilizing the 700MHz band to enjoy the speed bump.

MVP is eyeing putting up 200 more cell sites for the 700MHz band by the end of this year, which coincides with his initial promise of better mobile internet in 6 months.
