Taiwan Excellence Holds eSports Cup at SM North EDSA

Showcasing the best in Taiwan-made gaming products

To showcase the best of Taiwan’s gaming products, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) hosted an eSports cup at SM North EDSA from October 4 to 6. The three-day event was highlighted by tournaments for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and League of Legends (LoL), where a Php 430,000 prize pool was at stake.

The winning team from the CS:GO tournament will represent the country in an upcoming international competition in Taiwan, where it will compete against winning teams from Malaysia, Thailand, and India.

Aside from the tournament, the event showcased the best gaming products from brands like ASUS, AORUS, WINBOT, Kingmax, Transcend, T-Force, and more.

The event was attended by thousands of guests and spectators—proof that the Philippines is a growing market for eSports.

“We are able to give the Filipino gaming community the experience of enhanced gameplay through optimized devices from Taiwan makers, as well as to give the opportunity to eSports athletes to showcase their skills in the regional arena,” TAITRA Strategic Marketing Department Director CT Wu said.
