To Our Manila Readers: A Miracle Happened so Please Help Yolanda Victims

Yolanda hit our kababayans in Visayas badly
Yolanda hit our kababayans in Visayas badly

According to blogger Komentariat, Manila literally dodged a bullet and avoided getting submerged and battered by Yolanda because it suddenly changed trajectory last minute. Call it what you will but it definitely looks like nothing short of a miracle for us and we believe that this is a call for everyone who was spared to get together and help out our kababayans who were displaced and affected by the typhoon.

In tagalog:

Nagbago ng galaw si Yolanda last minute. Di tinamaan Manila pero grabe effect niya sa Visayas. Mag pasalamat tayo sa swerte natin sa pamamagitan ng pag dasal at pagtulong sa mga tinamaan.

Just so you guys get a better idea of how bad it was check out this news report by ABS-CBN’s reporter, Atom Araullo.

How to Help

The easiest way is to just donate to the Red Cross. They’re definitely trust worthy and we can rely on them to make sure that relief efforts are carried out well.

To donate using Smart, text RED to 4143. Amounts are 10, 25, 50, 100, 300, and 500.
To donate using Globe, text RED to 2899. Amounts are 10, 25, 50, 100, 300, and 500.

No cash but have time? Help with repacking of relief goods which is currently on-going at DSWD-NROC (Naia Chapel Road behind Air Transportation Office, Pasay City). To volunteer please call 851-12681.

Lastly, please do offer a prayer for everyone affected and for the country as a whole so that the spirit of generosity and charity just flows abundantly.

Hope you guys can pitch in and help. The devastating effect of Yolanda in Visayas is no joke. People were killed, houses were destroyed, and it will take the government a while to get things together.

  1. i love this site all the more for recognising the need to help our visayan countrymen. Yesterday was the release of globe’s and smart’s iphone plans. While fellow filipinos fought for their lives, some fought (and complained, and stressed) over getting a slot for an iphone. This pissed me off. Let’s get our priorities straight, people. Let’s stress over the right things, and provide help where help is due. Our countrymen need us. (and im sure they need us more than we need an iphone)
