Top 5 Home Gadget Buys in 2020

I’ve come to appreciate the importance of home tech.  Seven months (and counting) into the quarantine, I’m glad that I invested in gadgets and appliances that help keep me and my family safe while saving us time in having to do chores around the house.  These are the 5 home gadgets that are highly recommended for daily use.

Momax Q Power UV Box Sterilizer and Wireless Charger.

I use the Momax Q Power UV Box Sterilizer and Wireless Charger primarily to sanitize my smartphone.  As we all know, smartphones are great but they are not the cleanest things in the world.  This gadget from Momax incapacitates the virus and cleans the phone in a matter of minutes.  It’s easy to use.  Just plug it in using the USB cable that comes in the box, place your smartphone (or any small gadget inside) and press the button to start disinfecting.  There’s an 18-minute quick clean option and a more thorough 30 minute one.

Aside from disinfecting small gadgets, the lid of the Momax Q Power UV Box can also wirelessly charge your smartphone.  You can simultaneously sanitize something inside while charging another item on top.  You also have the option of putting fragrance so whatever it is that you’re disinfecting comes out not just germ-free but smelling fresh too.  I personally don’t use it for smartphones but it is great in freshening up smartwatches and fitness trackers.

The Momax Q Power UV-Box Sanitizer and Wireless charger is Php 3,990 and it’s available in Digital Walker and Home Office.ph.

Deerma VC20 Cordless Vacuum

Instead of using the traditional broom and dustpan, I prefer to use the Deerma VC20 because it is light and all the attachments allow me to reach every corner of the house.  We vacuum regularly because our pitbull sheds a lot and while the Deerma does not have the most powerful suction, it effectively cleans our tile floor.  It’s pretty affordable as well at Php 4,500 on Lazada.

Momax Iot Ultra Air UV Purifying Fan

The third item on the list is another one from Momax – the Momax Iot Ultra Air UV Purifying Fan.  It’s a 3-in-1 device.  You get a fan with a bladeless design, an air purifier with H13 Hepa Filter that captures dust, mites and other fine particles, and lastly, it has UV-C light to sterilize and inactivate germs and virus.  It really makes sure that the air at home is clean for the family.  The Momax UV Purifying Fan can cover up to 200 square feet.

You can control the Momax UV Air Purifying Fan using the touch screen on the unit itself although it also comes with a remote and you have the option of using voice control through Google Assistant.  It’s best to download the Momax Smart App so you can customize and automate the usage of the UV purifying fan.

The Momax IoT Air Purifying Fan is Php 15,990.   It’s available in select Digital Walker and Beyond the Box stores.

Toshiba Mini Dishwasher

The Toshiba Mini Dishwasher is perfect for couples and small families.  It easily fits into countertops as many Filipino homes do not have provision for a full-size dishwasher.  There are 6 wash cycles to choose from: intensive, rapid, eco, normal, glass and fruits.  It uses hot water so it effectively cleans the dishes and gets rid of the oil.  Check out our video so you can see the Toshiba Mini Dishwasher in action.  It’s available on Lazada for Php 19,995.

Mia Maison Smart Aromatic Machine (S.A.M.)

The Mia Maison Smart Aromatic Machine is a great way to keep your home smelling nice and fresh all day long.  Unlike room sprays that you have to manually spritz around the house, this one works with the Smart Aroma app and allows you to program the device so it automatically sprays the room at the frequency of your choice.  Remember to always use the Aromatic Solution Oil that’s also available in Mia Maison and not essential oils as it may damage the device.  The Mia Maison Smart Aromatic Machine is Php 5,010 on Lazada and it already comes with the fragrance solution.

That’s it for our list of 5 home gadgets that help keep the house safe and clean.  Which one do you like best?
