Google Donates $5 Million in Ad Credits to the Philippines

As part of its contribution to combatting COVID-19, Google is donating $5 million in ad credits to the Philippine government. The ad credits will be used to help key agencies in disseminating critical information related to the COVID-19 response and relief efforts.

Aside from the ad credits, Google has updated its Maps app with commute routes for shuttles servicing frontliners, along with identification of key COVID testing centers within Metro Manila. In addition, Google is also running DoH and PCOO’s COVID-19 information dissemination through its search engine.

“Sa ganitong paraan matutulungan ang gobyerno para mailabas ang importanteng mensahe sa mga nagse-search sa Google,” Google Philippines chief of Government Affairs and Public Policy Yves Gonzalez said.

Projects from other government agencies like DOLE, DTI, NEDA, and DICT will be promoted through Google’s search engine in the coming days.
