Viral Mondays: When an 8-Peso Burger creates a “Zombie Apocalypse”

That has to be one juicy burger

Just as most of us are relaxing because it is National Heroes Day, with some busy watching the final episode of Game of Thrones, there was a zombie apocalypse-like scenario happening around Metro Manila. All because Zark’s Burgers decided to sell its famed burgers for eight pesos. You read that right: a phone call for one of their uber yummy burgers.

Being on limited availability (the promo is only for the first 80 customers) and its unbeatable price, Filipinos trooped to ALL branches of Zarks, creating a massive congestion in major malls.

We kid you not: it really looked like a zombie apocalypse, based on the posts we spotted over social media. Here’s what happened in Zark’s Branch in SM San Mateo:

There were even memes about the debacle:


Some were annoyed at Zark’s 8th anniversary gimmick for causing unnecessary chaos. They even demanded an apology from the restaurant!

But thanks to social media, the buzz reached the guys from Zark’s, and they issued an apology for the ruckus they have caused in all of their branches:

We have to give it to the management of Zarks: at least they admit at the chaos they caused. Would they do a similar promo (with better crowd control) in the future? Maybe, or maybe not.
