DOST AND NTC GOOD ENOUGH, PROBLEM IS PROBABLY TELCO CAPACITY

Long story short, President Aquino believes that the existing Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) are capable enough to handle the problem and that there is no need to create a separate government agency focused on information and technology.

In the same interview he mentioned that there has been no formal study presented to him yet about why the Internet is slow in the country (lol). He does have a theory though that telcos just don’t have enough capacity for the subscribers trying to access their networks. He goes on to say that both the DOST and NTC will look into this issue.
