MacBook? More like lamebook

There have been fewer and fewer reasons to buy Apple’s top-end MacBooks these days. Build quality issues including the problematic butterfly keyboard, bloated feature-list that almost no one really uses, as well as incredibly premium prices even for an Apple product have driven Apple faithful to embrace Windows-based alternatives the past few years. And one of the best of the bunch has got to be Huawei’s MateBook X Pro. Packed with top-end features and tech, the Chinese company’s newest flagship PC is one of the best notebooks in the market right now.

Here are 5 reasons why:

One of the best displays on the market

The MateBook X Pro has a razor-sharp, 3000×2000 panel at 260ppi, which basically gives you a 3K display.

The 3:2 aspect ratio gives people more space for productivity and content creation, and thanks to a 100% coverage of the sRGB color space, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 450 nits of peak brightness, the MateBook X Pro has one of the brightest, most color-accurate screens available making it perfect for serious content creators.

The display is also touch-enabled, with 10-point touch support, along with corning Gorilla Glass Protection and anti-fingerprint coating.

While the Huawei MateBook X Pro packs a display that’s almost 14-inches, the notebook is as compact as a normal 13-inch notebook. That’s all thanks to a massive 91% screen-to-body ratio, accomplished by incredibly razor-thin side and top bezels.

The display is almost edge to edge, and the bezels seemingly disappear when you consume content on the beautiful screen.

Beautifully machined and finished

Huawei knows how to make beautifully put together machines, and the MateBook X Pro is no exception.

The chassis is milled from a single block of aluminum, ensuring its incredible rigidity and durability. The body has a premium, sand-blasted finish, has an incredibly slim body, with its overall 14.6mm thickness means it’s small enough to fit in even the smallest of office bags.

While the MateBook X Pro is available in your typical silver colorway, Huawei is also offering an Emerald Green variant of the notebook if you want to stand out from the pack.

Flagship features

The MateBook X Pro packs premium flagship features that you typically expect from top-end notebooks. A hidden recessed camera in the middle of the keyboard is one of the reasons that the bezels are as tiny as they are. The MateBook X Pro also has an integrated fingerprint scanner on the power button for more secure log-ins.

The recessed camera on the bottom allows users to use MeeTime, an incredibly robust video-calling app, powered by AI.

Incredibly convenient sharing features

Getting content from your phone to your PC is usually a pain in the butt, but the MateBook X Pro’s sharing features make phone-to-pc transfers a breeze. Simply tap your Huawei phone on the NFC area on the MateBook X Pro, and you’ll instantly be connected to the PC.

Once your phone is connected, Huawei’s OneHop system allows you to conveniently send files and photos from your phone to your PC (and vice versa) quickly and easily, all without the need to go through messy configuration screens.

Incredibly powerful internals

The MateBook X Pro has top of the line hardware that can handle everything you throw at it.

It ships with Intel’s latest 10th generation Core I7-10510U processor, along with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe SSD storage for blazingly fast read and write times.

The notebook also has NVIDIA’s GeForce MX250 graphics that help immensely which allows the notebook to render graphics quicker than a notebook without it.

The MateBook X Pro also uses Huawei’s incredibly powerful and compact 65W charger that’s smaller than most power bricks used by other notebooks today. What’s nice about the charger is that it can be used in other phones that use a USB Type-C connector, and doubles as a SuperCharge charger for Huawei phones that use the tech.

How Much is the Huawei MateBook X Pro in the Philippines?

Huawei’s MateBook X Pro is a great choice for people who value beauty, style, and performance in a compact package. It retails for Php 119,990.
