How to Book an Uber Without Worrying About Your Data Cap

Let’s take a brief break from the Mobile World Congress hype train and talk about something else. We all know how annoying taking public transport can get with the lack of reliable and comfortable PUVs. This inconvenience has been slightly alleviated by Grab and Uber; giving us much-needed respite from cab drivers who can be extremely picky when it comes to where riders are going plus the added negotiations of possibly not using the meter or adding a significant amount to the reading. With Grab and Uber though, you’ll have to spend your precious data allotment to make sure you can get home comfortably. That’s a thing of the past, at least for one of the TNVS services — Uber.

We checked Freenet to see if Unbox is running well on the platform (Yes, shameless plug!) and — surprise, surprise — we found out Uber was there too; meaning you have Free Access to the service so you can book your ride without worrying about how much data you still have for the month.

We’re not sure when it was first offered or how long Uber will be available via Freenet but we’ve reached out to their representatives for a statement and to clarify a couple of details too. We’ll know more once they get back to us.
