Modest upgrades for both tablets
Ahead of its scheduled March 25 event, Apple silently announced two new iPads on its website. The 2019 iPad Air gets a bigger display at 10.5-inches compared to the 9.7-inch panel of its predecessor. It gets a processor upgrade in the form of A12 Bionic chip, along with support for the first-generation Apple Pencil.
The 2019 iPad Mini, on the other hand, looks visually the same as its predecessors save for an A12 bionic processor, upgraded Retina display panel, and support for the first-generation Apple Pencil.
Both iPads retain their old design elements: 3.5mm headphone jack, Lightning port, TouchID, and 8-megapixel rear cameras.
