Other than the numerous tablets and phones announced at IFA 2011, we also saw several new ultraportable laptops that will directly compete with the Apple MacBook Air. The Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook is made from magnesium alloy, 13mm thin, and weighs in at 1.4kg. It has a 13.3-inch screen with 1366 x 768 pixel display. There are different models that have either Core i3, i5, or i7 CPUs. Estimated price for the base model is around Php52,000 (direct peso conversion).
The Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook should be in markets by the end of September. We’ll probably get it in the Philippines sometime in October-November.
