A wicked, 4K gaming machine
Alongside its water-cooled hybrid device, Acer has also announced its newest Predator gaming notebook, the 17X. The newest iteration of their Predator lineup keeps roughly the same design as last year’s offering but now has upgraded internals. Inside the new model beats the heart of a desktop class, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 GPU, 17-inch display that can be had in either 1080P or 4K.
To handle the heat that’s sure to be generated by the behemoth, Acer’s turned to three fans – two at the sides and one at the front. The front fan takes in fresh air to circulate to the two other fans on the side to keep things nice and cool. The best part of the Predator 17X is that it’s certified as VR ready for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
The bad part? It’s not going to be cheap – the 17X is priced at $2799 which is 130K in our currency without taxes or duties. If you want it, you better have very deep pockets.
