Alcatel launches a smorgasbord of Android devices
Alcatel launched their newest line-up of Android smartphones earlier today at a media and trade event at Rockwell Tent. Leading the pack priced at Php14,990 is the Alcatel One Touch Ultra, a dual-core Android Jelly Bean phone, which claims to be the thinnest smartphone to-date (it measures 6.45mm thick). Alcatel also has a tie-up with Marvel for Iron Man 3 so expect to see the Alcatel One Ultra in the hands of Tony Stark when you watch the movie in theaters this week.
While the Alcatel One Touch Ultra was the sexiest, what got our attention though was the Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD, a quad-core 5-inch HD display (using scratch-resistant Dragontrail glass) smartphone with an affordable price tag of just Php13,490.
Alcatel also had a bunch of other smartphones in different sizes, specs, and prices. The most affordable was the Alcatel One Touch Glory 2, a single-core smartphone running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with a 3.5-inch display. The Glory 2 has an SRP of Php3,999.
Other than smartphones, Alcatel also entered the tablet space with the One Touch Tab 7HD. It?s powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It doesn?t have a SIM slot though so this is really more for WiFi use. SRP of the One Touch Tab 7HD is Php7,490.
Other devices launched were the One Touch Idol, One Touch Inspire 2, One Touch Sapphire 2, and One Touch Scribe Easy.
We?ll do hands-on articles with the One Touch Idol Ultra and the One Touch Scribe HD so watch out for those tonight and tomorrow.
Congratulations to Alcatel Philippines for the successful launch!
