All for One: Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo Team Up for Upcoming File Transfer Service

The feature aims to rival Apple’s AirDrop

While Xiaomi, vivo, and OPPO are fierce rivals when it comes to delivering value-for-money smartphones at different price brackets, the three Chinese brands are teaming up for an upcoming file sharing service according to a report.

The team, which is called the Inter-Transfer Alliance group, is working on an AirDrop-like file transfer service that makes of Bluetooth to seamlessly exchange photos and documents with a single swipe or click.

Based on the teaser poster, the feature will not consume battery life, use 4G data, or any third party app—using Bluetooth, it aims to deliver transfer speeds of up to 20MB/s. In theory, that means a regular HD Movie can be transferred between two phones in two minutes.

While there are only three brands that are part of the alliance as of now, Xiaomi is open for other brands to join.
