An unnamed ASUS handset has been spotted over at GFXBench and it’s packing hardware similar to the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe, except that it comes with a Quad HD resolution instead of the 1080p display. The front and rear cameras are also different, but benchmarks usually get these details wrong, so it’s best to leave them out of the equation for now.
A couple of gadget blogs are already floating gossip that this could be ASUS’s next-gen flagship, the Zenfone 4, which is speculated for an official unveiling soon at the MWC 2017. As for Unbox? We’ll just wait for MWC.
(Alleged) Zenfone 4 (Benchmark Specs)
- 2.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor
- Qualcomm Adreno 530 GPU
- 6GB RAM
- 5.7-inch QHD display, 2560 x 1440 resolution
- 64GB internal storage
- 21-megapixel rear camera
- 8-megapixel front camera
- Android 7.0 Nougat (ZenUI 4.0)
It’s interesting to note that this particular ASUS flagship device is still sporting the last-gen Snapdragon 820 SoC instead of the new Snapdragon 835. The rumor grapevine has it that Samsung has already hoarded the initial batch of Qualcomm’s newest premium processor, ready for use in their next flagship series, the Galaxy S8.
