Anker’s Powerport Atom PD 1 is a Tiny Charger that can Charge a Macbook

It is smaller than an iPad charger

With more devices supporting fast charging these days, one of the common notions about fast charging is that a fast charger has to be bigger than your typical charger. Anker thinks otherwise with its Powerport Atom PD 1 charger.

The tiny USB-C charger—which is roughly the size of your typical iPad charger (or those old brick-type iPhone chargers)—supports Power Delivery and can supply 27 watts. That is enough to charge up your Macbook, your Nintendo Switch, or some smartphones supporting Power Delivery like Google’s Pixel phones.

To make this possible, Anker utilized the use of Gallium Nitride (GaN), which they claim is more efficient than silicon. The use of the said material also made it possible to shrink the charger’s size significantly.

The Powerport Atom PD 1 will be available this November for $30(~Php 1.7k).
