Apple Announces 13-Inch MacBook Pro with Magic Keyboard

Finally the end of the butterfly keyboard era

The transition is complete: after announcing the 16-inch MacBook Pro and 2020 MacBook Air, it is the 13-inch MacBook Pro’s turn to get the new keyboard. Borrowing the keyboard of the 16-inch Macbook Pro, the 13-inch MacBook Pro comes with a Magic Keyboard with a physical escape key and a TouchID that is separate from the Touch Bar.

Save for the keyboard upgrade, the 2x Thunderbolt port model carries over the same internals as its predecessor save for the 256GB base SSD storage. If you want significant spec bumps, the 4x Thunderbolt port model gets you a 10th-generation quad-core Core i5 processor, faster 3733MHz LPDDR4X RAM, and bigger base storage at 512GB. Configuration options include up to 32GB RAM and up to a whopping 4TB of SSD storage.

Otherwise, you get the same features as its previous generation such as a Retina display with True Tone, Apple T2 security chip, Force Touch trackpad, and a battery that is rated for up to 10 hours of use.

The 2020 MacBook Pro 13-inch starts at Php 74,990 for the 2x Thunderbolt port model with an 8th-generation Core i5 processor, and Php 104,990 for the 4x Thunderbolt port model with a 10th-gen Core i5 processor. The 2020 MacBook Pro 13-inch will be available soon in the Philippines.
