Apple unveiled the new iPhone 4S at Cupertino yesterday. Despite the innovative technology with their voice navigation system “Siri”, Apple stock prices actually stumbled since the world was expecting them to launch something much better with different hardware design (iPhone 5). Tech bloggers and journalists, who are largely responsible for Apple’s stellar positive word-of-mouth, ended up raising expectations of consumers worldwide to the point that the breakthroughs with the iPhone 4S were considered a “slight bump”.
I’ve given this a lot of thought already and I’ve made my decision to say no to the iPhone 4S and stick with my iPhone 4. Apple gave me the perfect reason to just wait for the iPhone 5. What’s did they do? They gave iPhone 4 users iOS 5!
iOS 5 will rock your world
I went through the features several times already and the best ones for me have got to be iMessage, Reminders, Notifications, and iCloud. All the other stuff like the Camera upgrades, TWitter Integration, and Safari are just icing!
- iMessage will let me cut down significantly on messaging costs because I’m on unlimited Data and I have a lot of close friends, family, and co-workers who use iOS devices.
- I’ve been on the lookout for a good task manager tool that’s integrated with the Apple ecosystem. Reminders will take care of that!
- iCloud offers wireless syncing. Take a photo with my iPhone 4 and it will automatically go to my iPad 2 and MacBook Pro? Awesomeness. Heaven sent for bloggers!
- Notifications Center might be a copycat of how Android does it but it’s a very welcome feature!
iOS 5 will almost make my iPhone 4 a brand new phone because of the better user experience. Looks like my trusty iPhone 4 will stay with me for another year as I eagerly wait for iPhone 5. :)
