Meet the thinnest Mac you’ll ever see

Apple has officially introduced the newest entry in its Macbook line, the brand new, 2015 model Macbook. The new Macbook is the company’s thinnest one ever – at just 13.1mm, it’s even thinner than the company’s own MacBook Air. To achieve this, Apple had to engineer the new device from the ground up – it uses a new buttefly keyboard mechanism that’s 40% thinner, and had to use a staggered battery layout to space out the dimensions. Even the 12-inch, Retina display has been re-engineered to use 30% less power than other Mac Retina displays. Even the logic board of the new notebook is dramatically smaller (67% to be precise).

Apple has gone with Intel’s Core M processor to power the new notebook, which Apple says has been tweaked to deliver all-day battery life. Like previous MacBooks, the new model will come in two SKUs – the 1.1GHz Intel Core M processor variant with 8GB of storage and 256GB SSD drive will retail for $1299 (Php 57495), while the higher end 1.2GHz Intel Core M processor variant with 512GB of SSD storage will retail for a whopping $1599 (Php 70773).
