If you’ve been thinking of buying the latest 3rd generation Apple TV, now might be the best time to do so. The price cut that was announced during the last keynote is full effect locally as the prices of Apple TV units in Apple Reseller stores are down to Php3,790 (from around Php5,000 before). We just bought a unit at our favorite Apple store, Beyond the Box at One Rockwell. Definitely a great buy if you have a lot of Apple devices at home and you want to turn your MacBook to your primary entertainment source with AirPlay.

We already wrote a review of the 2nd Generation Apple TV that you can check out here. We’ll do a full review of the 3rd generation model in a few weeks so watch out for that one as well! πŸ™‚

  1. The amount stated is just for the device. You still need to have an internet access to pay regularly to make it work and Apple content is not all free when you buy this. Cost will go up when you subscribe and purchase TV shows. There are free content but that can also be pulled using the regular PC with internet. Maybe to give more samples that Apple can provide free vs cable or PC is something to inform the reader about that is worth the initiate cut price. My take. πŸ™‚

  2. A bit off-topic, but was just wondering why didn’t you guys do a feature or news for Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata’s passing? Nintendo is a quite a big name in the videogame industry and to an extent, the tech industry. Plus dozens of other tech sites featured the sad news.

Just thought I’d bring this up. Still love unbox.ph. <3

He was such a dedicated and creative leader. It speaks volumes of his passion for the industry when even fans like us, who have never met him, still feel sorrow for his loss. Sana ma-maintain ng Nintendo yung vision niya for innovation!
