Apple’s New iPhone Xr is A Cheaper Alternative To The Xs And Xs Max

Apple’s New Is For the Mid-range Market

There’s no denying that the mid-range market is a growing product band, and Apple wants a slice of it. Their newly announced iPhone Xr is a phone made to “appeal as many people as possible”, which means it sheds many of the expensive features of the higher-end devices for a lower price point.

The body, for instance, uses an aluminum body rather than a more expensive glass and steel chassis, and trades in that costly OLED, force-touch capable panel for a regular 6.1-inch LCD display that the company calls Liquid Retina.

There are still trademark iPhone features on it though. There’s still that notch that has Apple’s IR camera, dot mapping and True Depth camera system that’s on its more expensive brothers, as well as Face ID.

The single wide-angle camera in the iPhone Xr is the same as Xs and Xs Max. It’s also powered by the same A12 Bionic processor that keeps Apple’s new iPhones running.

While the iPhone Xr isn’t exactly what you’d call a true-midrange phone, its lower $749 (~Php 40.4K) starting price compared to its the iPhone Xs and Xs Max is definitely more palatable. Pre-orders for the iPhone Xr will happen on October 19.
