ASUS Officially Launching Zenfone Laser, Zenfone Selfie In India On August 6

ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih is set to visit the India for the first time in August 6, and to commemorate the event, the company is said to launch several new devices for his historic first visit during ZenFestival 2015 on the same date. Apparently ASUS is looking to expanding its Zenfone lineup with brand new models as well as launch phones that have earlier been announced by the company.

ASUS Zenfone Selfie

ASUS will be launching in India the Zenfone Selfie, which was first unveiled in June during COMPUTEX. The Selfie, as its name suggests, is a device that’s geared towards selfie lovers, thanks to the the 13-megapixel front facing camera. This will be the first time that the selfie will go on sale in any market since its official unveil back in June.

ASUS is pegged to launch a new, affordable Zenfone variant dubbed the Zenfone Laser. The Zenfone Laser sports a lower speed, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processo, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a 5.5-inch HD display. The Zenfone Laser also packs a laser AF to help the 13-megapixel rear camera on the back.

There’s also a possibility that ASUS will launch an affordable Zenfone model that’s powered by a MediaTek processor. We’ve already reported on one such device, dubbed the Zenfone Go, two weeks ago but unconfirmed reports say that there are more MediaTek powered models that will be launched to prop up the low-end Zenfone lineup.

  1. I hope Asus knows what it’s doing saturating the market with different versions of essentially the same phone. Samsung was bad enough at this but et tu, Asus? Et tu?

      If you mean all having the name “Zenfone,” then yes. But specs wise, no they are definitely not. The procie is the main differentiator here.

      The first bad thing I see about this is the confusion it will cause to ther market with plenty of average, non-reader of blogs/news. Heck, even salespersons don’t know everything they’re suppose to sell. Add to that the fact that Zenfone 4, C, 5 and 6 are still being sold.

      I think Asus is trying to find out if having use-specific units is a good way to go rather than putting all higher-tier specs to a one (flagship) unit. They are in a position to keep tinkering after their first successful year..
