Will this be another phone that ASUS will offer here?
ASUS is apparently set to release another version of the Zenfone, this time aimed at budget concious consumers. Russian Site Mobiletelefon.ru is reporting that the new phone, dubbed the Zenfone Go, will sport a budget MediaTek 6582 processor, alongside a 5-inch display, 720 x 1280 resolution panel, 2GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
The new phone could be launched as soon as next week in India, where ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih is set to arrive for ASUS India’s ZenFestival. Shih’s trip to India is his first, and there are rumors that the company is set to launch a new handset during the event, alongside the Zenfone Selfie and the Zenfone Zoom.
If launched here in the PH, the Zenfone Go would need to be priced below 5K to compete with the other offerings of budget brands, which already offer octa-core powered smartphones under the same price point.
