Skips Oreo in the process
Instead of updating the ZenFone 5Q to Android Oreo first, ASUS decided to skip Oreo and go straight to Android Pie for its budget mid-range phone. ASUS did not explain why it chose to skip Oreo on the ZenFone 5Q, but this is nonetheless a positive development for the 2018 phone.
Since it skipped Oreo, the ZenFone 5Q technically only has one major Android update. We are keeping our fingers crossed for now if ASUS will update it to Android Q in the future. The update is rolling out globally, so expect it to be available in the coming days.
